Harsimrat Kaur Badal (b. July 25, 1966) is an member of parliament for Bathinda representing the Shiromani Akali Dal.[1]

Personal life

Harsimarant Kaur Badal was born on July 25, 1966 to Satyajit and Sukhmanjus Majithiahas. She is a graduate of textile design. [2] She married Sukhbir Singh Badal in 1991. She has 2 daughters and 1 son.

Political career

In the 2009 election, she was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Bhatinda constituency. She defeated Congress Raninder Singh candidate by 11000 votes.[1] Her first speech was on December 3, 2009, where she expressed her concern about the victims and survivors of the 1984 Sikh riots. Badal led a campaign against female foeticide named "Nanhi Chaan" ("small life" in Punjabi) [3]
